How do I sign my FAFSA® form?

ou’ll be asked to sign the form electronically if you’re submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form online.

Provide a signature on a FAFSA form that was already submitted and processed by doing the following:

  1. Log in to StudentAid.gov.

  2. Go to your account Dashboard.

  3. Select the FAFSA form that indicates “Action Required” under the “My Activity” section.

  4. Select “Provide Signature.”

  5. Sign and submit the form.

All required contributors must electronically provide their signature on the FASFA form.

You may submit your FAFSA form without other contributor signatures. We’ll process your FAFSA form, and you’ll receive a FAFSA Submission Summary. However, we won’t calculate a Student Aid Index if any of the required signatures are missing, which means you won’t be able to receive federal student aid. However, you may be eligible for state or local aid. For the FAFSA form to fully process, it will need all required signatures before the FAFSA deadline.
